Fire Man - Incoming Storm Fire Man - Incoming Storm

Nice Work!

Well, overall, the engine is fairly solid, being based off a Mega Man game and all. It definitely has the feel of a Mega Man game as well, difficulty and all. Like with the classic games, I couldn't get past the first boss (LOL)! Haha, if I kept at it, half the day would go by and I might have figured out a way to beat the boss, heh. Perhaps make the bosses a tad easier, though. I've noticed the difficulty of the bosses go from semi-tough to beat, to easy about halfway through (when Mega Mman has about 50% of what he has to get - power-ups, etc., and then from there it gets harder and tougher to beat from there. It would provide a classic learning curve for a game like this. Overall, this game surpassed expectations for a flash-based Mega Man game. Just perhaps decrease the difficulty and make it a tad easier to dodge the bosses attacks (as a pretty bad Mega Man gamer, I can say in most boss fights I've managed to get about 50% of the major attacks dodged on the later games on a bad run, while here I was hardly able to dodge. perhaps add a sound or some form of him as to where the first boss comes from, like a distinct sound from each direction, or something.)

Great work, keep it up!

Great work, for your first game! This is the kind of stuff that makes me glad I came back to NG. Keep up the good work; you can only get better from here.

If I know anything about actionscript I would like to look at the source when it's released.. I might learn something, haha. It reminds me of some game or minigame, I don't remember what.. Hmm.. Overall, great work, a 5/5, and 9/10 from me. As aforementioned, perhaps try to add some more things to get in your way, powerups, or something. it can add some spice to a game, and even make the simplest of games a touch better, not to say you are off to a roaring start already!

Not bad, but I found another bug

I found this out by mistake, while doing random button pressing - when you die, press the pause button. After Mario finishes his death animation and the screen wipes, hit the pause button again. The pause screen stays on view, and shows your position where you died. If you hit pause again it dims the screen and of course, shows the updated map. Hit pause again, and the old pause screen still lingers. You can only restart the game after this happens.

Otherwise, this seems quite polished, and I like it! Keep up the good work!

I'm so happy for you!

This is a triumph.
I'm making a note here, HUGE SUCCESS.

And a success this game is. The playability of it is almost exactly like portal, save for the fact this is a side-view puzzle game, as opposed to a third person view. Great work on it, and everything - from the graphics, to the music and sound effects, to the physics - great work. It truly felt like a game produced by VALVe. I especially liked the G-Man touch in one of the puzzles (shoot.. I forgot which one.. perhaps I should go play it again for the.. 2390848th time? Haha.. Keep up the good work!

Not bad!

Not bad, not bad at all!

Interesting game. As mentioned by others, perhaps next time use words as opposed to images, however the graphics and the layout is interesting. I couldn't get too far as I had gotten a bit stuck, but overall it seems well programmed. I haven't encountered any bugs, so overall, great work!

Tad too hard

Overall, at some points, the opponents were a tad too dead-on with their attacks, not giving a chance for a single hit. And when I did manage, it didn't appear to register. The physics were a tad off, as it seemed easy to get thrown off too easily, but overall it is quite polished. I don't know if anyone else had this issue either, but when I first started the game, the entire computer went choppy. Still, work on those small issues, and I'd feel the game is polished.

Art-wise, try to get everything to match a style. for instance, those images you used, trace over them to have the same cartoon style as the sprites, etc. They can flow better, and even then add to the quality of the game.

Keep it up.
